The History Man Utd has written this 2008/09 season: They are the 1st team in England to win the league title in 3 consecutive seasons, twice. Manchester United are the 1st British team to win the WORLD CUP CHAMPIONSHIP (2008). Manchester United are the 1st English team to win Porto at their home soil. Trophies that they have won this season English Premier League English League Cup FIFA Club World Cup FA community shield And people they are meeting Barcelona in Rome for the Champions League final. If they win, they will be the 1st team to win 2 consecutive Champions league title. Yet another history in the making. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE MAN UTD PLAYERS. Every single player contributed to the team’s success. Of course, the most defining moment of this season would be that goal from Macheda. It brought back the belief that Man Utd are not going to give in after the defeats by Liverpool and Fulham. I know that the hardest thing this season was to be hammered by Liverpool 4-1 at Old Trafford. Then again, they made it through. Like True Champions. Stronger and Victorious. All these wouldn’t have been possible without that man, Sir Alex Ferguson. A Legend. Yup. Sometimes, I tend to get frustrated with his team selection. But that man knows the best. Most of the times, he has his reasons. And finally, congratulations to all the Man Utd faithfuls, who have stuck with the team through thick and thin. The lucky ones who always get to be at Old Trafford. Damn, I wish I was one of those with season tickets to Old Trafford. I would be there, singing and shouting my lungs out for the team that I have grown to love since I started watching football at 9. Your support has always driven Man Utd. People can say that Man Utd fans glory hunting whatever…or prawn sandwich brigade..bla bla bla. You know, supporting Man Utd is not for the faint hearted. Every Man Utd match is unpredictable. Every Man Utd match holds surprises. You never know when Man Utd is going to switch on to their complacency mode or their free-flowing brilliant football mode. For a fan to sit through 90 minutes of pure suspense….there is one amazing feat. Man Utd has such amazing supporters. I have seen the atmosphere on TV. I always wish I was there amongst the sea of red passionate Man Utd fans.
